Thank you for the article in last Saturday's paper about Mary Taylor Previte (May 6). You and many of your readers may not be aware that Mrs. Previte and her family have ties to Central Illinois. Her parent's, James and Alice Taylor attended Greenville College in the 1920's. Mrs. Previte and her two brothers attended Greenville College in the 1950's. Because of the many college friendships that developed over the years they had correspondence and fellowship with many people in Central Illinois and across the United States and Canada, including some members of my family.
One other note about Mrs. Previte's time in the Weihsien Prison Camp: One of the teachers in the camp was Eric Liddell, the 1924 Olympic gold medal winner.
