Air Force pull-up bar

Dohntez Roberson, 16, tests out the Air Force pull-up bar during the Celebration.

The Air Force display near in the ADM Center parking lot often has a crowd hanging around.

Air Force Technical Sgt. Brian Harrison believes the booth has is popular because of the skill tests he offers.

“The pull-up bar has really been drawing them in, but we also have this virtual reality set (or the mini performance lab),” Harrison said. “They can walk around in it.”

When the participants approach the booth and service personnel, E5 Staff Sgt. Andre Cervantes begins talking to the Air Force and what it has to offer.

The performance lab shows only a portion what is available in the military. “We have a lot of good stuff,” he said.

Cervantes also wants the public to become more aware of the Air Force and its importance.

“The presence of the Air Force in Decatur is not very big,” he said. “We are trying to make the Air Force a household name and show people it's OK to have fun.”
