MOUNT ZION -- Alpha R. “Rosie” Brischle, 87, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Imboden Creek Living Center.
A memorial service to celebrate and honor Rosie’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Her final resting place will be in Mt. Zion Township Cemetery at a later date. Memorials can be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Rosie was born on October 7, 1930 in Festus, MO the daughter of William H. and Louise (Brock) Fisher. She married Frank J. Brischle, Jr. on June 2, 1946 in Pickett, AR. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit. Rosie and Frank enjoyed dancing, camping and traveling to Florida for 28 years but most of all she loved to cook and spend time with her family.
Surviving is her husband of 71 ½ years, Frank “Junior”; daughter: Glenda (Dewey) Suits of Decatur, IL; sons: Burton (Stan) Brischle of Mt. Zion, IL; Walter (Karen) Brischle of Decatur, IL; Scott (Coreene) Brischle of Mt. Zion, IL; grandchildren: Lisa (Harold) Kibler, Richard Suits, Jamy Brischle, Matthew (Tracy) Suits, Amy (Jared) Cristy, Sarah (fiancé: Jordan Elliott) Brischle and Baylee Brischle; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; brother: Richard Fisher of Danby, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
