Chaney

DECATUR -- Betty Jane Chaney, 97, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Fair Havens Christian Village. 

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Life Foursquare Church with visitation 5-7 P.M. Wednesday, January 10, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Betty was born October 24, 1920, in Decatur, the daughter of Earl G and Catherine E (Eshbaugh) Boyd. She was one of 10 siblings. She was united in marriage to Lawrence A. Chaney in 1940. He preceded her in death in 1967.

Betty retired from AW Cash Valve after 23 years of service. She was a lifelong and founding member of the Life Foursquare Church in Decatur, IL and was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed travel, playing cards and cherished spending time with her family, friends and church family.

She is survived by sons: Dennis Chaney, of Mahomet, IL and Larry (Rhonda) Chaney, of Decatur, IL. 7 Grandchildren, Lisa (James) Burgener of Champaign, IL, Paul (Melinda) Chaney of Scottsdale, Arizona, Joseph (Kelli) Chaney of Seattle, Washington, Jefferson Chaney of Clinton, IL, Travis (Rene) Chaney of La Luz, NM, Angela Martinek, and Alex (Kimberly) Chaney of Decatur, IL. 27 Great-grandchildren and 7 Great-great Grandchildren Brother: Gene (Susan) Boyd, of Lake Havasu, Arizona, and Sister, Marlene Gladden of Springfield, IL as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; son, Patrick Chaney, three sisters: Voncile Banfield, Bernice Blocker and Ruth Meador, four brothers: Dale, Ralph, James, Earl (JR) Boyd; and grandson Todd Chaney. 

She will be missed by all but rejoice that she is now in her Heavenly home.
