DALTON CITY -- Bailey Lynn Huddleston 17, of Dalton City, IL was granted her wings on November 6, 2017, following a life-long illness, Osteopetrosis. Her final days were spent in her mother’s arms surrounded by family and friends that Bailey had touched in some small way through out her short, yet very memorable life.
Bailey’s life would seem too short, but to those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.
Bailey passed away in Riley’s Children’s Hospital, Indianapolis, IN where she had been for the past three months receiving a bone marrow transplant. Bailey enjoyed crafts, lots of crafts, music, shopping, show choir activities and watching movies when at home snuggling with her dog, pestering her older brother, or hanging out with her Mom. With Bailey’s passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss her everyday she will forever remain in our hearts. I have learned so much from Bailey during her short 17 years of life. We were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be her Mom.
Bailey leaves behind many to cherish her memory including her mother: Heather Huddleston of Dalton City; father: Randy L. Ford of Greentown, IN; brother: Chandler Huddleston of Dalton City; half-brothers: Tyler Ford, Tanner Ford, and Trevor Barnett all of Greentown, IN; maternal grandparents: Bruce and Nancy Huddleston of Mt. Zion; paternal grandmother: Carol Holt of Decatur; maternal great-grandfather: Robert Marsey of Rantoul; maternal great-grandmother: Shirley Huddleston of Ludlow; Aunts and Uncles: Cody and Jessica Buckley of Mt. Zion and Meganne and Jordan Frydenger of Decatur; cousins: Grayson, Parker, and Payslee. Bailey also leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided her love and support. Bailey’s love extends to her wonderful nurses: Jake, Jenna, Rachel, Jess, Chelsea, and many more. There is a special place in our family’s heart for the stem cell team, as well as the ICU staff and all of these special people too many to mention that provided Bailey with love and dignity in her life and also in her death.
Bailey was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmother: Katherine Marsey; maternal-great grandfather: Dallis Huddleston, paternal great-grandparents: Bob and Evelyn Harrier and her uncle: Jack Harrier
