DECATUR -- Elizabeth Mae “Libby” Hupp, 92, of Decatur, IL passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Hickory Point Christian Village.
A service to celebrate Libby’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation two hours before the service. Libby will be laid to rest in Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Hickory Point Christian Village.
Libby was born on July 6, 1925 in Paducah, KY, the daughter of Alfred B. and Mabel D. (Fornwalt) Elliott. She married Harold Dale Hupp on March 21, 1942. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2000. Libby retired from Borg Warner after many years of service. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion, Moose Lodge #684 and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan finally getting to see them win a World Series. Libby was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first.
Libby is survived by her daughters: Mary (Jerry) Whalen of Decatur, IL and Sharon Kay (Michael) Evans of Decatur, IL; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Thomas D. Hupp, sister: Betty Ek and her brother: Alfred B. Elliott, Jr.
