DECATUR -- Larceny Smith, 89, of Decatur departed this life on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Larceny was born on February 1, 1927 in Aubrey, Arkansas the daughter of Hayward and Mattie (Morris) Williams.
Larceny was married to the late Steven Smith, Sr. and this union 8 children were born. She worked as a supervisor in the filling lab at Taylor Pharmaceutical (Acorn). She was a longtime member of the Jasper Street Church of Christ.
Larceny loved to cooked for her family members and spend time with her grandchildren and family.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her children: Jimmy L. (Shirley) Smith of Miami, FL, Steven Smith, Jr. of St. Louis, MO, David B. Smith of Sturtevant, WI, LaVerta P. Smith of Decatur, IL, Timmothy (Hazel) South Chicago Heights, IL., Valerie V. Smith of Peoria, IL, Delores A. Griffin of Cairo, IL; grandchildren: Kenneth (Tina) Tatum, MaShanna (Cory) Tatum-Binder, Shawnta (Sandria Young) Tatum, Steven (Amy) Tatum; 25 grandchildren, 46 great grand grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren; nieces, Gloria Patrick of Chicago, Alfleta Terry of St Louis, MO, Bessie Thomas of St. Louis, MO and Delores Gray of Arizona; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Larceny was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 sisters, 2 brothers and 1 child.
Services celebrating her life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016 at North Jasper Street Church of Christ (950 North Jasper Street) with visitation one hour before service. Professional Services entrusted to Walker Funeral Service. www.walkerfs.com
