DECATUR — Leslie James Lacox, 92, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 in his home with his family by his side.
Graveside services to celebrate Leslie’s life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in Graceland Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard and Pastor Mitch Flesch officiating.
Leslie was born April 5, 1920 in Pekin, Illinois, the son of Frank and Martha (Benkey) Lacox. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. He was previously employed with Bowman Welding. He married Harriet L. Bledsaw April 4, 1953. She preceded him in death January 29, 2009.
He leaves behind nephews Earl Wright of Decatur, Phillip Wright and wife Cathy of Decatur, great-nieces Susie Struening and husband Nate of Argenta, Kayla Valy of Las Vegas, Nevada, Lora Wright and companion Rodney Blankenship of Decatur, Becky Loehr and husband Chuck of Decatur, great-nephew Dylan Wright of Decatur, great-great-niece Haley Blankenship, great-great nephews Zachary Loehr, Aiden Struening, Nikolas Struening, and sisters Mildred and Audrey.
He was reunited in Heaven with his parents, wife, four brothers, and one sister.
The family would like to give a special thanks to cardiologist Dr. J., Dr. Khan, and the nurses and staff with Safe Haven Hospice.
