DECATUR — Police responded to a reported armed robbery at McDonald's, 1835 E. Eldorado St, on Tuesday night. 

Lt. Shannon Seal confirmed officers went to the scene after receiving a call about an armed robbery at 8:31 p.m. 

At the scene, Sgt. Adam Jahraus said a suspect entered the restaurant displaying a firearm and then fled on foot southwest. He did not immediately have a description of the firearm or whether the suspect had taken anything before fleeing.

Police described the suspect as a black male, about 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. Police were reviewing video surveillance of the scene.

The restaurant was closed to the public as multiple officers worked the scene and interviewed employees. It was not known if the restaurant would reopen Tuesday night.

Police could not provide any further information about the robbery Tuesday night.
