DECATUR — A collection of five swords and four bayonets are among items valued at $3,000 that were stolen from a Decatur home, according to Decatur police.
Police Sgt. Chris Copeland said the items were taken between March 22 and Sunday from a home in the 2400 block of East Eldorado Street. Police reports stated the landlord who owns the collection believes it was stolen by tenants with whom he shared the house.
Four of the swords are ceremonial, and one is a military piece. Four World War II-era bayonets, two French and two Japanese, were also taken along with various military helmets.
