SHELBYVILLE — State Rep. Brad Halbrook, R-Shelbyville, said Tuesday afternoon that he would seek re-election in 2018.

“This has been a challenging time to be a state legislator,” Halbrook said in a statement. “Nevertheless, I continue to look forward to bringing reforms to Illinois that will improve our business climate and reform Illinois government.”

Halbrook first elected to the General Assembly in 2012. He represents the 102nd district, which includes Douglas, Macon, Moultrie and Shelby counties.

Halbrook serves on five committees and is the Minority Spokesman on the Counties and Townships Committee.
