Hickory Point Mall will close on Thanksgiving Day, citing positive feedback from retailers and customers when it made the decision to do so last year.

CBL Properties, owner and manager of Hickory Point Mall, announced the decision Wednesday. The mall will open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday, Nov. 24. Stores with exterior entrances will have the option to open their stores on Thursday.

The Black Friday opening had been moving earlier every year as CBL centers opened for the first time at midnight in 2012. The following year, it opened at 8 p.m., and in 2015, doors were open at 6 p.m. on the holiday

“The support that we received last year when we made this decision was overwhelmingly positive,” said Stephen Lebovitz, President and CEO, CBL Properties. “It is based on this feedback from our retail partners, employees of CBL and retailers at our properties, as well as the customers in our markets that we made the decision to again close our centers on Thanksgiving Day.”
