I just read another developer wants to ruin an established Decatur neighborhood. I empathize with those citizens directly affected and do not want to see the parcel rezoned. There are other parcels and properties ready for development in Decatur. If the new businesses have desirable products or services, customers will find them and Decatur can grow.
I don't live in Decatur, so the elected officials don't care about my ballot at election time. I care about the citizens affected and I will help the best way I can. I will vote with my dollars.
If the development gets pushed through and completed, I will not patronize those businesses, ever. I would encourage others feeling the same way to make the same pledge.
