DECATUR - Lorrie J. Durbin, BS, RN, COMT, was awarded the Advanced Educational Scholarship by the American Society of Ophthalmic Registered Nurses at the group's annual meeting in San Francisco.
The award, sponsored by Pelion Surgical from Aiken, S.C., grants funds for the recipient to advance the individual's career goals and improve care for ophthalmic patients.
Durbin is a registered nurse in ophthalmology and ophthalmic medical technologist, employed by John C. Lee, M.D., S.C., for 30 years. She received her bachelor of science from Quincy College, ophthalmic technician training from Tulane Medical School and registered nurse training from Chamberlain College of Nursing. She is enrolled at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in the bachelor of science in nursing program.
