First team

Kaelyn Froebe, 5-7, Jr., Lincoln

The lone repeat player from the first team a year ago, Railers coach Taylor Richmond calls Froebe “a dynamic player who has the ability to create her own shot, reads her defense well and finishes both inside and outside." She averaged 18.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.8 steals and 3 assists.

Emma Henderson, 5-8, Sr., Tuscola

One of the most dangerous defenders in the area, Henderson's length and speed caused plenty of problems for opponents. The lone Warriors senior averaged 15.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 4.5 steals.

Avery Jackson, 5-6, Sr., Mattoon

There wasn't a weak spot in her game -- if the Wave needed something, she was able to provide. She averaged 18.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.9 steals a game to help lead Mattoon to 30-2. One coach said their team "could not stop her."

Paige Robinson, 5-10, Jr., Okaw Valley

One coach said they focused their entire defense on her, and she still scored 30 in the game. Robinson's a stellar 3-point shooter -- she made state in the 3-point contest -- but became a more complete player through the season. Averaged 21.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 3.4 steals and 2.9 blocks.

Sierra Thompson, 5-10, Sr., Mattoon

Thompson controlled the paint, forcing opponents into bad shots while trying to score around her (1.9 blocks a game). On offense, few are as good at finishing around the rim. She averaged a double-double, scoring 16.1 points and pulling down 10.9 rebounds a game.

Second team

Jamie Sandschafer, Sr., Teutopolis – A second-team IBCA player, she came close to hitting the 40-50-90 marks, making 40.4 percent from 3, 50.9 percent from the field and 88.2 percent from the free throw line.

Carsyn Fearday, So., Effingham – Playing best in the big games, she averaged 15.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2.2 steals for the regional champs.

Shelby Thompson, Sr., Teutopolis – Also a second-team IBCA player, the point guard (10.8 ppg) has one of the best outside shots in the area.

Abby Weis, So., Effingham St. Anthony – The Bulldogs point guard kept tight control of the offense and could do a little bit of everything, with averages of 12.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals.
