DECATUR — Millikin volleyball seniors Alora Goodey and Erin Syversen  were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American First Team on Tuesday.

Senior setter Emily Mihalkanin was named All-American Honorable Mention.

Goodey, a Lincoln graduate, had 509 kills this season — sixth-highest in Divsion III — with a .343 hitting percentage. Goodey added 84 blocks, 86 digs and nine service aces. Last week Goodey was named to the AVCA All-Region Team for the Midwest Region and selected the CCIW Player of the Year.

Syversen, of Pewaukee, Wis., had 574 kills — third in Division III — 382 digs and 79 services aces. Last week Syversen was named the AVCA Midwest Region Player of the Year and selected to the CCIW All-Conference First Team.

Mihalkanin’s performance this season earned her spots on both the AVCA All-Region Team and the CCIW All-Conference First Team. Overall, Mihalkanin has 1,263 assists, which was tied for fifth most in NCAA Division III for total set assists. Mihalkanin had 361 digs, 96 kills and 63 service aces.
