DECATUR — Dog Haus, a Pasadena-based restaurant chain, plans to open a new location in the former Ruby Tuesday building, located at 4405 E. U.S. Route 36.
The news comes almost a year after American Development Partners, a restaurant development firm, purchased the building for $1 million in Oct. 2016. The firm is also opening Dog Haus restaurants in 19 other states, including Michigan and Ohio, according to a news release on Dog Haus' website.
The 1.85-acre site was previously owned by Store Master Funding II, LLC, and has been vacant since Ruby Tuesday closed abruptly in July 2016. Information on when the new restaurant will open was not available Tuesday. A company spokesman referred questions to the local franchise owner, who could not immediately be reached for comment.
Dog Haus' website said that the chain was founded in 2010, and specializes in serving hot dogs, hamburgers and ice cream.
