DECATUR – Decatur Memorial Hospital employees selected Brenda Knight, patient transportation valet, as the 2018 Employee of the Year.
Knight, widely known for her kind approach, her steadfast commitment and her consistently pleasant demeanor even during the coldest months, started working at DMH in 1981, when her reputation for always putting the patient’s needs began.
“We only hire the best employees,” says Timothy D. Stone Jr., DMH president and CEO. “We recognize the best of the best with our Employee of the Month program, and Brenda epitomizes what it means to be an excellent employee. I’m proud to award her as the DMH 2018 Employee of the Year.”
“She is always courteous toward patients, visitors and staff no matter what the situation,” says Vice President of Operations David Samples. “Brenda is always cheerful and always works hard to meet the patients’ expectations. Her positive, can-do approach has been noted on several occasions by patients who then took the time to share their compliments. Brenda’s excellent customer service skills are second to none.”
Last year’s employee of the year was Café DMH associate Princess Wilson.
