Guided by Director/Conductor Ted Hesse, the Greater Decatur Chorale launches into “The Great American Songbook” at Richland Community College’s Shilling Auditorium. The show featured classic numbers from Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin and more.  

DECATUR — Fall auditions for the Greater Decatur Chorale will be held Monday, Aug. 27, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Poage Arts & Recreation Center, 2020 N. Oakland Avenue. 

The Decatur Park District said those wanting to audition are asked to prepare a song of their choice. Tape or CDs may be used during the audition, but auditioners may also be asked to sight read or perform tonal memory singing.
