DECATUR — V Shape Mind, believed to be the first Decatur band to sign a major-label recording contract, is planning its first public appearance together in 14 years.
On Sunday, singer and guitarist Brad Hursh posted the band's familiar on Facebook with these words: “Reunion show Fall 2018”
The heavy metal group, which included guitarist Jeff McElyea, bass player Vic Zientara and drummer Scott Parjani, signed with Universal Records in 2003 and released one album, which included the single "Monsters." The band toured with popular heavy metal group Mudvayne that fall, but broke up the following year, playing their final show at the Lincoln Square Theater.
Though many details are to be worked out, the quiet announcement from Hursh provided plenty of joy for fans and friends. They were letting him know all day.
“My phone's been ringing all day,” he said. “It's fantastic. It feels great.”
