LAST MEETING: Casey-Westfield won 28-6 last season.
LAST WEEK: Robinson beat Flora 40-13; Casey-Westfield beat Red Hill 47-12
KEY PLAYERS: For Robinson, Jason Richart, Jr., RB/LB; Nick Berty, Sr., FB/LB; Joe Smith, Jr., RB/DB; Derek Keeler, Sr., OL/DL; Bucky Stevens, Jr., QB/LB
For Casey-Westfield, Nicco Stepina, Sr., QB/DB; Austin Glidewell, Sr., RB/LB; Zack Murphy, Sr., WR/RB/DB; Jordan Brandenburg, Sr., OL/DL; Bryce Currey, Sr., OL/DL
KEYS TO THE GAME: Robinson’s power run game will be the first real test for Casey-Westfield since the Class 1A No. 2 Warriors beat Olney in a 44-36 Week 1 shootout. Richart leads the Maroons with 138 carries for 1,330 yards and 14 touchdowns, and the 6-foot, 205-pound junior is just 44 yards shy of breaking Robinson’s single-season rushing record. But the ground game doesn’t end there. Smith has put together multiple 100-yard rushing performances, and Berty, listed on the Maroons’ roster as an offensive lineman has found the end zone multiple times through the ground game this season.
No team, though, has done much to stop Casey’s offense this season. The Warriors are averaging 50 ppg and kept up that pace even when backup quarterback Issac Elkins filled in for a suspended Stepina in Week 6 against Oblong (a 53-27 win). And ever since knocking off Olney by eight points to start the season, Casey has had a wide margin of victory each successive week. The Warriors’ average margin of victory in the past six games has been five touchdowns.
Herald & Review/Danny Damiani Casey-Westfield's Zack Murphy makes a run with the ball as he is chased by the Cumberland defense during their game on Friday.
