DECATUR -- China Michelle Garrison, 55, of Decatur departed this life on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
China was born on January 26, 1962 in Decatur, Illinois the daughter of Stanford T. and Marguerite (Hardison) Garrison. She graduated from Sunnyside and worked at Macon Resources for over 21 years.
China was a member of the Church of the Living God P.G.T. Temple #2 for 45 years. She was a member of the Mass Choir and the Missions Team. She was faithful to her church and loved fellowshipping with other Church of the Living God Temples and Antioch M.B. Church. She was a genuine prayer warrior and loved to praise the Lord.
China participated in the Special Olympics and she sang amongst her peers with the Heart and Soul Singers. She also enjoyed bowling.
China was well known in Decatur and she truly loved her family and church families.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: brother, Tony (Mary) Garrison of Decatur; sisters, Gail Freeman of Decatur and Vickie Garrison of Oklahoma City, OK; special nieces and nephews: Lena Marie Terry, Bruce L. Freeman, Jr., Brock A. Freeman, Breannah Terry, Timothy Freeman and Aaron Kinnebrew, special friend, Annie Graham and a host of other siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brother, Stanley and Jeffery Garrison.
Homegoing Celebration will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Church of the Living God P.G.T. Temple #1 with visitation one hour before service.
