FORSYTH -- Jean Henry, 85, of Forsyth, IL passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Hickory Point Christian Village. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 10:00am with a visitation one hour prior at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. Burial will be in the Point Pleasant Cemetery in Long Creek, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Humane Society.

Jean was born on June 11, 1932 the daughter of George and Elsie Mae (Miles) Weiborg. She married Herbert Sample in Springfield, IL in 1948. Then she married Donald Rutherford in Alexandria, VA in 1970. Following his passing in 2003, she married Richard Henry in May of 2005 in Dalton City. He also preceded her in death in 2009. Jean and husband Don owned and operated the Wheel Inn Motel in La Place, IL. She enjoyed raising miniature Dachshunds for many years. Jean was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Decatur.

Jean is survived by her two children; Linda Marie (Jerry) Huffington of Hammond, IL and Cathy Lee (Larry) Traxler of Lovington, IL. Five grandchildren; Krista (Joe) White of Heyworth, IL; Jenny (Brandon) Walker of Cerro Gordo, IL; Tara (Eric) Matthews of Dalton City, IL; Jason Traxler of Aurora, IL; and Patrick (Heather) Rutherford of Snellville, GA. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and one sister, Margaret Ellington of Watertown, WI, along with several nieces, nephews, and her two Dachshund dogs, Dixie and Sadie.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, one grandson, Douglas Rutherford, one sister, and one brother.

The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers; Mary Mabon, Diane Clifford, Pat Stewart, and Jeanie Neece. Thanks also go out to Lincolnshire Memory Care, Hickory Point Christian Village, and Dr. Shackleford.
