DECATUR -- Raymond Lee Ferré, Jr., 83, formerly of Decatur, IL died peacefully on May 15, 2016, at 9:15 a.m. in Greenville, KY. He was born on April 28, 1933, in Flint, MI, the son of Raymond Lee Ferré, Sr., and Bessie Rockwell Ferré of Decatur. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1951. He served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956. He graduated from Logan Chiropractic College in Chesterfield, MO in 1959. Ray practiced chiropractic medicine in Sullivan and Decatur, IL. for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife, LaVahn Younger Nord Ferré, of Belton, KY, Cynthia Ferré, of Atlanta, GA, Chris (Anita) Ferré, of Preston, MD, Scott (Susan Renee) Ferré, of Decatur, Julianne (Einar) Rivera, of Woodstock, GA, Susan (John) Steranka, of Parker, CO, David Nord, of Orrville, OH, Rebecca (Jay) Dorsey, of Chandler, AZ, Merry Ferré, of Raleigh, NC, Eric Nord, of Denver, CO, 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Ferré, of Tucson, AZ; sisters, Nancy O’Grady, of Hitchcock, TX, Judith Ferré, of West Valley City, UT. He was previously married to Sharon Peter Ferré, of Durham NC. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Gerald and Richard Ferré; sister, Alice Williams; and daughter-in-law, Dawn Kelm Ferré. Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3778 N. Water St., Decatur, IL with visitation preceding the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
