FORSYTH -- Gilbert Wayne Reuben, 66 of Forsyth, died in his residence at 2:10 am. on Friday, April 8, 2016.
Memorial service to celebrate Gil’s life will be 10:30 am. Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Grace United Methodist Church. Family will greet friends one hour before service time at the church. Memorials if desired may be made to the New Life Pregnancy Center. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.
Gil was born November 26, 1949 in Decatur, the son of Arthur Wayne and Opal Nations Reuben. He graduated from the University of Illinois. He was employed as Controller of KingLar Company. He was previously employed at Sleeper, Nalefski and Catlin Public Accountants as a CPA/Tax Accountant, and Bear Hybrid. Gil enjoyed playing golf, fishing, reading, building PC’s and learning computer programming languages. He was a Harley Davidson rider, played the guitar and loved spending time with his grandson. In 1976 Gil won the Decatur Public Golf championship.
He is survived by his son, Michael Wayne Reuben and wife Cacee of Oklahoma City, OK., daughter, Sarah Ileane Jordan and husband Quentin of Decatur, grandson, Tristan Jordan and another grandson on the way, former wife, Susan Ileane Reuben of Oreana, mother, Opal L. Reuben of Decatur, sister, Yvonne Dorsey and husband Jim of Wayzata, MN., brother, Phillip (Matt) Reuben of Decatur, niece, Erin Dorsey of Boston, MA.
He was preceded in death by his father.
