DECATUR -- John Norman Tolly, 46, of Decatur, IL passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016 in his residence.

A service to celebrate John’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. John will be laid to rest in South Macon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to GT Church or Heritage Behavioral Health Center.

John was born on July 19, 1969 in Decatur, IL, the son of Dale Lee Tolly and Jacqueline Burg Tolly. He was a 1988 graduate of Macon High School. John was a machinist for 15 years at Mueller Company, he had previously worked for Bridgestone Firestone Tire Company. John was a member of the Local 7-838 of the United Steelworkers Union. He enjoyed trap shooting, woodworking and oil and charcoal sketching.

John is survived by his father: Dale Lee (Karen) Tolly of Oreana, IL; daughter: Alyssa Tener of Decatur, IL; step-brothers: Brad Whisnant, Greg Whisnant and Jeff Whisnant; step-sisters: Carrie Moschino of Mt. Vernon, IL and Stephanie Whisnant; uncle: Richard (Bonnie) Tolly of Mt. Zion, IL; aunt: Susan Pelicer of St. Augustine, FL; cousins: Michael Tolly of Bolivar, TN and Donald Tolly of St. Joseph, MO; second cousins: Cynthia Luton of Springfield, IL and Kyle Blackwell of Forsyth, IL; great aunt: Pauline Luton of Decatur, IL; Jim Blackwell of Forsyth, IL, husband of John’s late cousin Donna Sue Blackwell; girlfriend: Kama Webb of Decatur, IL and her two children, Caden and Avery whom John dearly loved;

He was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents: Norman and Florence Tolly and Jack and Ruby Burg, great grandparents, cousin: Donna Sue Blackwell and his great uncle: Edward Luton.
