DECATUR -- James D. Weger, 56, of Decatur, IL passed away at 10:43 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
A service to celebrate and honor Jim’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jim will be laid to rest in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
Jim was born on July 7, 1961 in Decatur, IL, the son of Harley Delane “Red” Pasley and Lucille (Edwards) Pasley. He worked as the maintenance manager for Bob Brady Dodge for 27 years. Jim married Mary Jo Collett on October 21, 1983. He was a hard worker and a very generous person. Jim was a great son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, employee and friend who will be greatly missed.
Jim is survived by his wife: Mary Jo Weger of Decatur, IL; mother: Lucille Pasley of Decatur, IL; daughters: Rachel Rhoades of Decatur, IL and Allison (Anthony) Weger of Decatur, IL; brother: Kenneth (Amy) Weger of Bement, IL; sister: Brenda Nichols and her boyfriend William Settle of Decatur, IL; his one grandson and the light of his life: Anthony James Washington; nieces and nephew: Katie (Kevin) Lewis of Decatur, IL, Cody Weger of Bement, IL and Courtney Weger of Gainesville, NY; great nephews: Trey Lewis and Tanner Lewis both of Decatur, IL; cousins: Vicky (Paul) Bradford of Mt. Zion, IL and Ricky (Connie) Flannigan of Mt. Zion, IL; best friends: Bob Brady and Steve Gensler and their families; loyal companion: Blue.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and his brother: Robert Weger.
