ABOUT THE CHURCH: Mount Zion United Methodist Church is affiliated with the Methodist denomination with blend of traditional and contemporary service. Ted Hartley has been the senior pastor of the church since 2013, but has been a pastor for 22 years. Membership includes approximately 50 members.

Service days and times:


  • 9 a.m., worship services
  • 10 a.m., "Chat 'N' Snack" fellowship
  • 10:30 a.m., Sunday school and adult enrichment classes

OUTREACH: Members of Mount Zion United Methodist Church serve meals at Good Samaritan Inn Soup Kitchen and host Red Cross blood drives and health fairs. Missions include trips and UMC men's projects.

The church also offers the United Methodist Church Co-op Preschool, a nondenominational preschool.

HISTORY: Mount Zion United Methodist Church was first established on Feb. 3, 1974. One year later, the church purchased the property in which the current building stands.

Throughout the years, the church has updated the building, including a kitchen, landscaping and classrooms. In 40 years, the church has had only nine ministers.

WELCOME VISITORS: Members come from urban, suburban, and rural locations in the area. We are young and older, traditional and contemporary, new Christians and mature believers.

As faithful United Methodists, we are nurturing and equipping our congregation to know the love of Jesus Christ.
