If you own a Gem 65 8-in-1 multicooker, you likely enjoy all the ways it helps you prepare food.
According to Instant Pot, the manufacturer, you should also check your unit to make sure the bottom won’t melt. On an Instant Pot community Facebook page, Instant Pot said a small number of customers who have the multicooker have reported overheating that has resulted in the underside of the unit melting.
The company said the problem likely affects only batch codes 1728, 1730, 1731, 1734 and 1746. Those codes are the four-digit number at the bottom right on a silver label on the bottom of the unit.
The company said to stop using the product immediately if you have one of the affected models, and it will provide further instruction once it learns more from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Customers can also call the company at 1-800-828-7280, ext. 2.
