Fido Scurry

DECATUR — The annual Fido Scurry is 8-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Fairview Park. Proceeds benefit the Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation.

The 5K or 1 mile run/walk steps off at 8 a.m., with activities including a pet parade, costume contest, demonstrations and refreshments. The costume theme is "World Pup," a sports theme. Cost is $25 per person for the run, $10 per person for the walk or $20 per family. Register by Sept. 5 to guarantee a T-shirt. Headphones, leads longer than 6 feet, flexileads, inline skates and unrestrained pets are not allowed.

Following the Scurry is the Fairview Family Aquatic Center Dog Swim at 11 a.m., with a second session beginning at 12:15 p.m. Limit of two dogs per person and all dogs must arrive and leave on a leash. Proof of 2019 registration and rabies shots are required.
