Deviled eggs are always a crowd-pleasing appetizer, and there are a ton of variations on the classic recipe out there. If you like a little kick, you’re going to love these Cajun-style fried deviled eggs from 4 Sons ‘R’ Us. They’re crispy, crunchy and a little bit spicy.
If you’re worried that adding a fried element to this simple snack is too risky, this food blogger implores you to fear not. He likens them to a deep-fried treat you’d get at a state fair, and that’s definitely a good thing. (Fried Oreos with a side of ice cream, anyone?)
“If you love deviled eggs as much as we do, I’m telling you not to shy away from the fried version,” he wrote.
This delightful finger food would be perfect to serve at a variety of parties and holidays. The spicy filling includes Cajun seasoning, a bit of the hot sauce of your choice and dill pickle relish for a zesty kick that will have you coming back for more. If the heat is too much for you or your guests to handle, simply dial back the seasoning and/or hot sauce until you get a level that works for you.
Another take on this twist comes courtesy of Average Guy Gourmet aka Tony Rican. Rican says his recipe is perfect to serve at Easter, where eggs in all different forms are typically the stars of the show. He admits that while it takes a bit more time and effort than traditional deviled eggs, the results are well worth it. Check out his recipe tutorial video on YouTube below:
Rican uses a deep fryer to achieve a perfect, golden exterior on his eggs, but he says you can pan-fry them as well, as long as the oil is hot enough so that they actually fry up nice and crispy.
Yum! Would you give this twist on deviled eggs a try?
