DECATUR -- The Millikin women's basketball team lost to the No. 18 Illinois Wesleyan Titans 82-64 at the Griswold Center on Saturday. The start of the game was pushed back two hours after the heavy snow that hit Central Illinois.

Illinois Wesleyan led 36-23 at halftime. The Big Blue outscored the Titans by one point in the third quarter, but Wesleyan took control of the game in the final quarter. Millikin made several scoring runs trying to get themselves closer, but every time the Titans would answer with points of their own.

Millikin hit 43 percent from the field, but went 3-for-14 (21 percent) from 3-point range. Illinois Wesleyan hit on 49 percent from the field and went 6-for-14 from beyond the arc. The Titans out rebounded Millikin 40 to 32.

Yanni Saddler and Jordan Hildebrand led Millikin with 19 points each. Hildebrand had a team-high eight rebounds. Briana Anthony scored 11 points for the Big Blue (5-11, 1-6 CCIW).

Illinois Wesleyan's top scorer was Maddie Merritt with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Samantha Munroe added 17 for the Titans (13-3, 6-1 CCIW).

The Big Blue host Elmhurst College on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m.

Illinois Wesleyan 87, Millikin 71

DECATUR -- The Millikin men's basketball team lost to Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday in snowy Decatur. The start of the game was delayed for two hours after a heavy snowfall in the area.

Illinois Wesleyan led 44-30 and pushed out to a 27-point lead in the second half. Millikin shot 53 percent from the field and went 6-for-16 from 3-point range. Illinois Wesleyan hit on 49 percent from the field, but took 15 more shots than the Big Blue. The Titans outrebounded Millikin 36 to 28 and had 16 offensive rebounds.

Jack Marinko lead Millikin (8-7, 2-5 CCIW) with 19 points followed by Elijah Henry with 17 and Zach Fisher with 15 points.

Brady Rose scored 23 to lead the Titans (10-6, 3-4 CCIW) followed by Doug Wallen with 15.
