DECATUR — The city of Decatur will hold a lottery to distribute federal money for certain home repairs to qualifying applicants.
In a statement, the city's neighborhood services division said its residential rehabilitation lottery will begin on Monday, Oct. 14.
Residents must be homeowners that are income-eligible and the unit must be a single-family home within city limits. Rehabilitation for homes include assistance with accessibility, roof replacements or energy improvements.

Names are chosen in lottery style and those selections will be made based on eligibility and project convenience. Residents chosen will be notified on a later date.
Registration is available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays through Friday, Nov. 22, at the Department of Economic and Community Development, located on the third floor of the Decatur Civic Center, 1 Gary K. Anderson Plaza.
Assistance is possible through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnership Funding.
