DECATUR — A 28-year-old man faces a preliminary aggravated robbery charge after police said he and three others attacked and robbed a man near North Morgan Street and East Garfield Avenue.
The man was arrested Friday and also faces preliminary charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault and theft under $500. Preliminary charges are subject to review by the Macon County State's Attorney's office.
A signed police affidavit said the robbery was reported May 4. The 45-year-old victim told police he was lured into a house by an unknown man who asked him if he wanted to smoke, and three other men that he knew punched and kicked him to the ground, the affidavit said.
One of the men threatened the victim with what was believed to be a gun if he didn't give them his money, the affidavit said. The other three took the victim's hearing aids out of his ears, pulled his pants down and took $250, his cellphone, house keys and wallet that contained $400, the affidavit said.

The man was held in the Macon County Jail Tuesday on $75,000 bond. He is due to be arraigned June 26.
