MOUNT ZION — Two Decatur men and a Mount Zion woman were arrested on felony drug charges involving methamphetamine Wednesday morning, the Mount Zion Police Department said.

Officers executed a search warrant about 8 a.m. at a home on South Drive and recovered 15 grams of methamphetamine, a loaded 9 mm firearm and drug paraphernalia, Mount Zion police Lt. Mike Foster said. The drug paraphernalia included a digital scale and small plastic baggies commonly used to package drugs, he said.

A 28-year-old woman who lives in the home is facing a Class X felony charge of intent to deliver between 15 and 100 grams methamphetamine. During a police interview, Foster said, the woman told officers she had initially been in possession of an ounce (about 28 grams) of methamphetamine and recently had given two people a total of 6 grams.

The woman is also facing preliminary felony charges of possession of methamphetamine, illegal possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of ammunition by a felon, Foster said. A sworn affidavit states she is being held in lieu of $100,000.

A 48-year-old man is facing a felony charge of possession of meth under 5 grams, and a 29-year-old man is facing felony charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing justice/destroying evidence. Bond has yet to be set for both suspects, and they are being held in the Macon County Jail.

Preliminary charges are subject to review by the Macon County State's Attorney's Office.
