FORSYTH — A woman and man who the Macon County Sheriff's Office says worked together to steal more than $200 in clothing from a Hickory Point Mall store have been arrested.

A sworn affidavit said the pair was seen on surveillance video walking together into the Kohls at 1080 Hickory Point Mall. A loss prevention officer told police they observed on the video the man handing the woman tank-tops, pants and other items that she stuffed into her clothing.

Surveillance video also recorded the two leaving the store without purchasing the items, the affidavit said.

The 46-year-old woman and 62-year-old man were booked into the Macon County Jail Friday on preliminary charges of retail theft with prior theft instances. The woman was booked on a $50,000 bail and the man on a $10,000 bail. Preliminary charges are subject to review by the State's Attorney's Office.
