DECATUR — An impaired Decatur driver who police say answered "not enough" when asked how much he had to drink has been sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to his sixth DUI offense.

Keith E. Maxedon, 49, appeared in Macon County Circuit Court on Monday and also pleaded guilty to driving while his license was revoked. Judge Jeffrey Geisler sentenced him to an additional year of prison on that charge, but ordered the sentence to run concurrent with the 7 year term.

Maxedon was also ordered to pay $1,100 in fees related to offsetting DUI enforcement costs.

Police recounted the conversation with Maxedon in a sworn affidavit connected with the April 14 arrest. The affidavit said a patrol officer had found Maxedon asleep at the wheel of his car parked in the 3000 block of North Water Street around 1:30 a.m.; the officer said Maxedon’s breath smelled of alcohol and his eyes were bloodshot and glassy.
