DECATUR — A Decatur man who sold his home in the 1000 block of South Maffit Street and left behind some items in storage tells police more than $500 worth of his property has now been stolen.

Detective Sgt. Chris Copeland said the 67-year-old man left the items April 9 and came back to find them missing on Saturday. The stolen property includes a wood burning stove, a propane heater, a reciprocating saw and a three-ton floor jack.

Copeland said the man had arranged with the new owners to leave some of his property in storage but, when the house was quickly resold to another new owner, the man was told to collect his belongings from an unattached garage where they had been kept.
