DECATUR — A Decatur man contacted police after receiving a collection agency letter for a $600 cable bill he doesn’t owe.

Sgt. Adam Jahraus with Decatur Police said the 51-year-old man called to complain about the bill Saturday. “He said he has not had cable service since 1989,” added Jahraus. “It looks like somebody has been using his name up in the Chicago area.”

Police have listed the case as one of identity theft.
