DECATUR — Detectives are investigating after a man leasing office space complained that a large quantity of his furniture had been stolen, along with 10 Chicago Cubs World Series posters.

Sgt. Adam Jahraus with Decatur Police said the office space was in the 100 block of South Main Street and the 32-year-old man was moving out of the leased property. He told police he had not been there since February and had been told by the property manager his office furnishings had been moved into storage so the space could be shown to new clients.

When the man arrived at the building to check his belongings Friday, he told police he found many items missing. “A sofa, a love seat, a conference table, credenza, office chairs, a 40-inch television, portable speakers and those 10 posters,” said Jahraus. Police reports did not list a total value for the items but it is expected to be easily more than $500.
