DECATUR — Police investigations into the shooting death of Decatur man Bernard Norvell continued Monday.
Detective Sgt. Chris Copeland said inquiries into the circumstances of how 35-year-old Norvell came to be fatally wounded were progressing, but he declined to elaborate. Norvell was found with a gunshot wound in the 400 block of East Stuart Avenue after police received calls of shots fired in that area around 12:46 a.m. Sunday.
Norvell was pronounced dead at Decatur Memorial Hospital at 1:23 a.m.
Detectives have conducted numerous interviews connected with the case and executed search warrants.
