Police vehicles are shown at the Circle K on Eldorado Street in Decatur on Tuesday.

DECATUR — A man was found dead in his vehicle Tuesday as it sat in the parking lot of a Decatur gas station. Macon County Coroner Michael Day said he is believed to have died of natural causes.

Decatur police Sgt. Adam Jahraus said officers were called to the Circle K gas station, 501 N. Main St., at 4:16 p.m. after someone noticed the man's truck had been parked in the lot for a long time.

Jahraus could not say how long the truck had been sitting there before police were called.

The man was found unresponsive at the scene, Jahraus said, and there were no signs of foul play. Customers were not allowed to drive onto the station's parking lot while officers worked the area.

The station and its parking lot were reopened to the public by 6:30 p.m.

Day said more information about the man or his death could not be released Tuesday night as the investigation continued.
