  • 0

DECATUR — A sworn police affidavit said a man was shoved so violently in a Decatur bar that he suffered a fractured skull.

The incident happened at 10:36 p.m. Thursday at the Captain’s Palace Bar, 411 E. William St. The affidavit said a 52-year-old man “did violently shove” a 49-year-old man to the floor, where he struck his head.

“... (He) was later diagnosed by Decatur Memorial Hospital medical staff as having a skull fracture and brain bleed on the right side of his head caused by this incident,” the affidavit said.

The 52-year-old was arrested Monday and booked on a preliminary charge of aggravated battery. Preliminary charges are subject to review by the Macon County State’s Attorney’s Office.
