MATTOON -- Three men have been arrested on methamphetamine-related charges following a traffic stop last week.
A Mattoon Police Department news release said that Maverick C. Bowman, 26; Corey J. Mitchell, 27; and Bryan A. Shupe, 28, all of Mattoon, were arrested at 3:33 a.m. Feb. 26 in the 2000 block of Western Avenue after a traffic stop involving a taxi.
Bowman was faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of meth with intent to deliver and possession of drug equipment. He was allegedly in possession of cocaine, baggies of meth that were packaged for individual sale and delivery and scales and other items commonly associated with drug sales, police said.
Mitchell was arrested in connection with a Coles County warrant of arrest for the possession of methamphetamine.
Shupe faces a methamphetamine possession charge that alleges that he was in possession of the illegal substance.
All three suspects were taken to the Coles County Jail.
