MOUNT ZION — The Mount Zion Police Department said on its Facebook page that multiple picnic tables at Goodwin Park, 1030 North Court, were damaged earlier this week.

The police department posted pictures of the vandalism on its Facebook page Thursday evening, which showed that someone tore planks off the top of the tables and scattered them around a pavilion. The post said the tables were damaged between Tuesday and Thursday.

Police and the village's parks department could not immediately provide more information about the vandalism Friday afternoon.

Anyone who sees someone else damaging Mount Zion park property is asked to call the police department at (217) 864-4012.
