DECATUR — A 16-year-old boy was found with what appeared to be a gunshot wound Thursday night in the 1800 block of East Decatur Street, police say.

A press release from the Decatur Police Department issued by Lt. Brian Cleary said officers responded to the location around 9:40 p.m. on a call about a shooting victim.

Police arriving on scene found the boy, who appeared to have been shot, Cleary said. He was taken to Decatur Memorial Hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries. 

The incident is under investigation, and no further information is available at this time, Cleary said.
