Police: 3 masked, armed men hold Decatur woman at gunpoint during home invasion

  • 0

DECATUR — Police said a 20-year-old Decatur woman was woken out of bed at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday by the sound of three masked and armed men smashing their way into her apartment through the front door.

Detective Sgt. Chris Copeland said the woman was held at gunpoint by one of the men while the others proceeded to ransack the apartment on South Dipper Lane.

“And then, after about two minutes, one of the other suspects told the suspect who was pointing a gun at her that ‘It was time to go,’ then they all fled the apartment,” Copeland said.

He said the men stole a backpack and a small amount of cash, and the woman was uninjured.
