One person has died and another is injured after a shooting at Long John Silver's on Friday night. 

DECATUR — One person is dead and another has been airlifted to HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield with life-threatening injuries after a shooting at Long John Silver's, police said. 

Sgt. Chris Copeland said in a statement that police were sent to the restaurant, 701 W. Eldorado St., at 5:50 p.m. on a report of a shooting. They found a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds inside the restaurant. He was taken to Decatur Memorial Hospital, where he died, Copeland said. 

Another male victim arrived at HSHS St. Mary's Hospital in a private vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. He was flown to Springfield. 

Copeland said no further information would be released.

This is the second Decatur homicide of 2019. Police arrested 22-year-old BillieJo L. Soyster on New Year's Day in the fatal stabbing of her 38-year-old boyfriend, David W. Murray. Soyster faces a preliminary charge of first-degree murder; preliminary charges are subject to review by the Macon County State's Attorney's Office.
