DECATUR—  A 22-year-old Decatur man was shot in the arm while stopped in his vehicle around 1:40 a.m. Thursday morning, police said.

Sgt. Steve Carroll said Decatur police officers arrived to Decatur Memorial Hospital where the victim had driven himself. The 22-year-old told officers he was stopped in traffic in the 200 block of East Center Street, when he heard several shots in the area.

Carroll said the victim had a single gunshot wound to the arm, but the injury is not life-threatening. 

The incident is under investigation.
