Try 3 months for $3

DECATUR — A 32-year-old woman was arrested after she struck her 13-year-old daughter in the face with a mop soaked in bleach water, according to a sworn affidavit.

The officer noted in the sworn statement the victim had obvious red discoloration to her right cheek, and her right eye was noticeably bloodshot. The woman told police she had been cleaning and accidentally flung the bleach into her daughter's face as she was walking through the door, the affidavit said.

The sworn affidavit said the victim told officers this was an intentional act, as her mother was drunk and angry.

The woman is facing a preliminary charge of domestic battery, and is being held in the Macon County Jail. Bond is set at $2,500.

Preliminary charges are subject to review by the Macon County State's Attorney's Office.
